The Ocean Clear Model 318 Canister Filter with Polystrand 50 Micron Bio-Filter is for biological filtration.

Features:

Contains 205 sq.ft., 50 micron polystrand filter pads and full-flow grid providing the highest available wetted surface area for nitrifying bacteria
Filter body: 13" wide X 11" tall. Needs 12" clearance above the canister filter for cartridge removal.
3/4" FNPT inlet/outlet
Includes 3/4" and 1" hose adapters, teflon tape for fittings and drain valve
For use with pumps up to 1200 gph
Does not include pump, hose or a method for connecting the filter to your tank. We highly recommend using the Inland Sea Suctions and Returns with the Ocean Clear Filters, and we carry several models of aquarium and pond pumps.

The Ocean Clear Model 319 Canister Filter with Polystrand Micron and Carbon Filter is for mechanical and chemical filtration.

Features:

This dual function filter contains a stack of 50 micron and 100 micron of polystrand filter pads surrounding 20 oz of activated carbon in a fine mesh nylon bag. The 100 micron pad pre-filters incoming water, then the 50 micron fluffed pads provide additional particulate filtration.
Chemical filtration is provided by the 20 oz of Ocean Clear Carbon in the center core
Filter body: 13" wide X 11" tall. Needs 12" clearance above the canister filter for cartridge removal.
3/4" FNPT inlet/outlet
Includes 3/4" and 1" hose adapters, teflon tape for fittings and drain valve
